Alex wanted to have a steak and a drink for his 21st Birthday,  we took him to Kirby's Steakhouse and he had Surf and Turf. Good memories.

I started out just making one tag  and then another, the possibilities are endless.  I also wanted to keep my tags simple.  We can only enter one tag.  The first one is my entry.

I'm making some treat bags for a girls lunch to kick off the holiday season.  I'm also going to make a bunch for some of the nurses aids who take such good care of my 80 year. old mom.

My 2012 Thanksgiving Table

I do not do a traditional thanksgiving anymore,  I think it's been 4 1/2 years since I cooked a Turkey. Dave had to change his diet when he got Cancer and became a Vegan.  I'm thankful that my kids have somewhere to go for the big day.  I'm going to do a family dinner on Saturday,  Butternut squash soup and a big salad with homemade croutons. and of course pumpkin pie and a lemon pie using the lemons from my tree.   I still wanted to decorate my table and wanted a simple and casual table. I love all the fall colors and love pumpkins.  I wish I had some brown plates but it came together, mixing crate and barrel plates with fiesta ware.

 
 

Veterans Day Party at the Nursing Home

Mom is getting ready to celebrate Veterans Day at the Nursing Home.  They have so many Veterans to honor, a lot of them can not come into the dining room so they will go room to room to honor them.   I thought it was great of them to do that.  Mom has been looking forward to some cake.

I Love Fall!

This year I wanted to decorate my Mantel with simple things and try to use what I have without buying any new stuff.  I have been seeing so many new things and have seen lots of Ideas on Pinterest, but I want to keep it simple.  My Sister in Law gave me two frames to play with and I knew I wanted some subway art.  It was so simple and cheap and I didn't buy a thing. 

Bazzill Christmas Card Swap

It was kinda hard to come up with a Christmas Card in October.  I love anything that has snowmen so that's what I did. They have some amazing cards posted over at - www.bazzillbasics.com.  I used Believe paper collection.  I'm looking forward to getting some cute cards back from the swap.

Yummy Ice cream cake

I went to a Halloween lunch today hosted by: Susie Perez                   Food, Fun and Crafts Pinterest Style. The whole lunch and crafts were inspired by Pinterest.  We had so much fun.   We did two crafts, Pumpkin decoration and coasters and a yummy lunch of Chicken, Salad, Mac and Cheese and Biscuits and Ice cream cake. She out did herself on the table decorations.  I left with so many cool ideas.
